A large kitchen colander with a fine 18 cm diameter mesh is a versatile helper for everyday cooking, straining and rinsing larger quantities of food. The spacious metal strainer is suitable for straining pasta, gnocchi and cooked vegetables, rinsing rice, lentils, chickpeas and other pulses, or washing fruit and vegetables. You will particularly appreciate the 18 cm diameter when preparing larger portions. Use the colander to drain cooked pasta or gnocchi, rinse rice before cooking, or rinse chickpeas and beans after removing them from their brine. It is also suitable for washing strawberries, grapes, currants, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, salad leaves or chopped vegetables. Food can be rinsed directly in the strainer and the excess water can drain away conveniently.

The fine mesh is a major advantage when preparing homemade stocks and sauces. Place the colander over a suitably sized pot or bowl and strain the stock through it to remove spices, vegetables and other solid parts.
