TIPS AND BENEFITS
The benefits of Pyrex® borosilicate glass are exceptional. It withstands extreme temperatures from -40°C to +300°C. It is highly resistant to thermal shocks of up to 220°C (EN 1183): it can be moved from a freezer at -20°C into an oven at 20°C. The hygienic BPA-free material does not retain stains or odours. Scratch-resistant
You can use this bowl for a wide range of activities — mix baking dough, prepare a large salad, serve a shared dish or store a prepared mixture in the refrigerator or freezer. Thanks to its robust borosilicate glass, it is also suitable for use in the microwave oven, conventional oven and refrigerator — providing flexibility and convenience when cooking and serving. When serving, the bowl excels on its own thanks to its design – place it in the centre of the table, without additional packaging or decorations, and let it stand out at a shared dinner or family gathering.
Wash before first use. Avoid abrasive cleaning products. Washing dishes under abnormal conditions, such as high water temperature and excessive detergent dosage, may damage the glass. In case of burnt-on or stuck food, we recommend soaking the cooled dish in soap and water.
Never use directly on a heat source such as a gas burner, electric hob, ceramic hob or grill.
When baking at home, you will certainly appreciate the wide range of baking aids. Clearly arranged baking utensils, bowls of various sizes and cutters in all different shapes and sizes.
When handling hot baking dishes, we recommend using kitchen oven gloves , which protect your hands from high temperatures.
If you want to enjoy even better baking, be sure to try our baking dishes with a non-stick coating or practical baking dishes with lids , which allow food to be stored immediately after baking. For baking enthusiasts, we also offer a wide range of baking tins , which make preparing sweet and savoury dishes easier.
Pyrex – from an American idea to a French kitchen icon
The brand Pyrex® was founded in 1915 in the USA, when Bessie and Jessie Littleton, with the help of NONEX glass from Corning, laid the foundation for the first exceptionally durable glass baking dish. A few years later, the Pyrex story moved to Europe: from 1922 borosilicate glass began to be produced in France and in 1970 main production moved to the plant in Châteauroux , where Pyrex is still formed, pressed and manufactured today — the site is home to a huge furnace covering almost 100 m² and processing over 150 tonnes of raw materials daily. Pyrex can therefore rightly rely on the label Made in France and the quality associated with it
Thanks to continuous innovation, Pyrex glass products today withstand extreme temperatures from –40 °C to +350 °C and thermal shocks of up to 240 °C (EN 1183). The brand has also expanded its range beyond iconic glass — since 2004, it has included metal and ceramic cookware, frying pans and saucepans. At its core, however, the essentials remain: durable, hygienic and taste-neutral materials that make cooking and serving easier across generations.
