TIPS AND BENEFITS

The benefits of Pyrex® borosilicate glass are exceptional. It resists extreme temperatures from -40°C to +350°C. It is highly resistant to thermal shocks of up to 220°C (EN 1183): it can be moved from a freezer at -20°C into an oven at 20°C. Hygienic BPA-free material does not retain stains or odours. Scratch-resistant

Wash before first use. Avoid abrasive cleaning products. Washing dishes under abnormal conditions, such as high water temperature and high detergent dosage, may damage the glass. In the event of burnt-on or stuck-on food, we recommend soaking the cooled dish in soap and water.

Never use directly on a heat source such as a gas burner, electric hob, ceramic hob or grill.

During cooking and baking, it is better to use gentle cooking utensils made of wood, silicone or melamine. This prevents unnecessary scratching and extends the product's service life.

When handling hot baking dishes, we recommend using oven gloves , which protect your hands from high temperatures.

If you want even better baking results, be sure to try our baking dishes with a non-stick surface or practical baking dishes with lids , which allow food to be stored immediately after baking. For baking enthusiasts, we also offer a wide range of baking tins , which make preparing sweet and savoury dishes easier.

Pyrex – from an American idea to a French kitchen icon

The brand Pyrex® was founded in 1915 in the USA, when Bessie and Jessie Littleton, with the help of NONEX glass from Corning, laid the foundation for the first exceptionally durable glass baking dish. A few years later, the Pyrex story moved to Europe: from 1922 borosilicate glass began to be produced in France and in 1970 main production moved to the plant in Châteauroux , where Pyrex is still formed, pressed and manufactured today — the site is home to a huge furnace covering almost 100 m² and processing over 150 tonnes of raw materials every day. Pyrex can therefore justifiably rely on the designation Made in France and the quality associated with it

Thanks to continuous innovation, Pyrex glass products today withstand extreme temperatures from –40 °C to +350 °C and thermal shocks of up to 240 °C (EN 1183). The brand has also expanded its range beyond iconic glass — since 2004, it has also included metal and ceramic cookware, pans and saucepans. At its core, however, the essential remains: durable, hygienic and taste-neutral materials that make cooking and serving easier across generations.
