The dish is made of highly durable Pyrex borosilicate glass which excellently withstands extreme temperatures from -40°C to +350°C and resists thermal shock up to 240°C. It therefore passes without problems from the refrigerator or freezer directly into the oven. Borosilicate glass is particularly valued for its long service life and hygienic properties and its ability not to absorb odours or flavours from prepared dishes.

The dish's deeper sides are also a great advantage, making it ideal for larger family recipes or layered dishes. Practical wide handles make handling easier when moving it from the oven to the table, and thanks to its elegant glass design, the dish can be served directly without transferring the food. The dish is also scratch-resistant and very easy to clean, even with regular use.

The large baking dish is ideal for family lunches, lasagne, roast meat, baked potatoes, sweet desserts and preparing meals for several days in advance. Thanks to the borosilicate glass, you can prepare the dish, store it in the refrigerator and then place it straight into the oven without transferring it.

The glass material does not absorb odours or flavours and also allows easy monitoring of the baking process. Another advantage is very easy maintenance – even when heavily soiled, simply soak the dish briefly and most dirt will come off easily without vigorous scrubbing.

The advantages of Pyrex® borosilicate glass are above standard. It withstands extreme temperatures from -40°C to +350°C. It is highly resistant to thermal shocks up to 240°C (EN 1183): it can be moved from a freezer at -20°C to an oven at 220°C. Wash before first use. Avoid abrasive cleaning products. Washing dishes under abnormal conditions, such as high water temperature and excessive detergent dosage, may damage the glass. In the event of burnt-on or stuck food, we recommend soaking the dish in soap and water after it has cooled.

Never use directly on a heat source such as a gas burner, electric hob, ceramic hob or grill.

During cooking and baking, it is better to use gentle cooking utensils made of wood, silicone or melamine. This will prevent unnecessary scratching and extend the service life.

The Pyrex® brand was founded in 1915 in the USA, when Bessie and Jessie Littleton, with the help of NONEX glass from Corning, laid the foundation for the first exceptionally durable glass baking dish. A few years later, the Pyrex story moved to Europe: from 1922 borosilicate glass began to be produced in France and in 1970 the main production moved to the plant in Châteauroux , where Pyrex has been formed, pressed and manufactured ever since — this is where a huge furnace with an area of almost 100 m² stands and processes over 150 tonnes of raw materials daily.
