TIPS AND BENEFITS
The benefits of Pyrex® borosilicate glass are outstanding. It withstands extreme temperatures from -40°C to +350°C. It is highly resistant to thermal shocks up to 220°C (EN 1183): it can be moved from a freezer at -20°C into an oven at 220°C. Hygienic BPA-free material does not retain stains or odours. Scratch-resistant
Wash before first use. Avoid abrasive cleaning products. Washing dishes under abnormal conditions, such as high water temperature and excessive detergent dosage, may damage the glass. In the event of burnt-on or stuck-on food, we recommend soaking the cooled dish in soap and water.
Never use directly on a heat source such as a gas burner, electric hob, ceramic hob or grill.
During cooking and baking, it is better to use gentle cooking utensils made of wood, silicone or melamine. This will prevent unnecessary scratching and extend the product's service life.
For home baking, you will certainly appreciate our wide range of baking aids. Clearly organised baking utensils, bowls of various sizes and cutters in all different shapes and sizes.
When handling hot baking dishes, we recommend using oven mitts , which protect your hands from high temperatures.
If you want to enjoy even better baking, be sure to try our baking dishes with non-stick coating or practical baking dishes with lids , which allow you to store dishes immediately after baking. For baking enthusiasts, we also offer a wide range of baking tins , which make it easier to prepare sweet and savoury dishes.
If you prefer klassic plastic containers for short- and long-term storage, be sure to look at the excellent LocknLock collection. No one makes food containers and boxes in various shapes and sizes better. TOP quality at low prices
Pyrex – from an American idea to a French kitchen icon
The Pyrex® brand was created in 1915 in the USA, when Bessie and Jessie Littleton, with the help of NONEX glass from Corning, laid the foundations for the first exceptionally durable glass baking dish. A few years later, the Pyrex story moved to Europe: from 1922 borosilicate glass began to be produced in France and in 1970 the main production moved to the plant in Châteauroux , where Pyrex has been formed, pressed and manufactured to this day — this is where a huge furnace covering nearly 100 m² stands and processes over 150 tonnes of raw materials daily. Pyrex can therefore justifiably rely on the designation Made in France and the quality associated with it
Thanks to continuous innovation, Pyrex glass products today withstand extreme temperatures from –40 °C to +350 °C and thermal shocks up to 240 °C (EN 1183). The brand has also expanded its range beyond iconic glass — since 2004, it has included metal and ceramic cookware, frying pans and saucepans. At its core, however, the essential remains: durable, hygienic and taste-neutral materials that make cooking and serving easier across generations.
