TIPS AND BENEFITS
The benefits of Pyrex® borosilicate glass are outstanding. It withstands extreme temperatures from -40°C to +350°C. It is highly resistant to thermal shocks of up to 220°C (EN 1183): it can be moved from a freezer at -20°C into an oven at 220°C. The hygienic BPA-free material does not retain stains or odours. Scratch-resistant
Wash before first use. Avoid abrasive cleaning products. Washing dishes under abnormal conditions, such as high water temperature and detergent dosage, may damage the glass. In the event of burnt or stuck-on food, we recommend soaking the dish in soap and water after it has cooled.
Never use directly on a heat source such as a gas burner, electric hob, ceramic hob or grill.
During cooking and baking, it is better to use gentle kitchen utensils made of wood, silicone or melamine. This prevents unnecessary scratching and extends the service life.
For home baking, you will certainly appreciate the wide range of baking aids. Neatly arranged baking utensils, bowls of various sizes and cutters in all shapes and sizes.
When handling hot baking dishes, we recommend using kitchen oven gloves , which protect your hands from high temperatures.
If you want even better baking results, be sure to try our baking dishes with a non-stick surface or practical baking dishes with lids , which allow food to be stored directly after baking. For baking enthusiasts, we also offer a wide range of baking tins , which make it easier to prepare sweet and savoury dishes.
If you preferclassic plastic boxes for short- and long-term storage, be sure to look at the excellent LocknLock collection. Nobody makes food containers and boxes of different shapes and sizes better. TOP quality at low prices
Pyrex – from an American idea to a French kitchen icon
The Pyrex® brand was founded in 1915 in the USA, when Bessie and Jessie Littleton, with the help of NONEX glass from Corning, laid the foundation for the first exceptionally durable glass baking dish. A few years later, the Pyrex story moved to Europe: from 1922 borosilicate glass began to be produced in France and in 1970 main production moved to the plant in Châteauroux , where Pyrex is still formed, pressed and manufactured today — an enormous furnace covering almost 100 m² stands here and processes over 150 tonnes of raw materials every day. Pyrex therefore rightly relies on the designation Made in France and the quality associated with it
Thanks to continuous innovation, Pyrex glass products today withstand extreme temperatures from –40 °C to +350 °C and thermal shocks of up to 240 °C (EN 1183). The brand has also expanded beyond its iconic glass — since 2004, it has included metal and ceramic cookware, frying pans and saucepans. At its core, however, the essentials remain: durable, hygienic and taste-neutral materials that make cooking and serving easier across generations.
